The calls come after a recent letter by the Zionist Organization of America to “investigate and ban” SJP from all CUNY campuses.

The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) conference, intentionally timed to attract the presidential frontrunners, is a perfect illustration of why. It is at AIPAC after all, that those hoping to become or remain our elected leaders are pandering to powerful pro-Israel groups this week in order to win their favor, or avoid their disfavor.

Today the University of California (UC) Board of Regents adopted a Report and Statement of Principles against Intolerance that states: “Anti-Semitism, anti-Semitic forms of anti-Zionism, and other forms of discrimination have no place at the University of California.” In doing so, the Regents rejected a blanket conflation of anti-Semitism with anti-Zionism.
