New State Bills Threaten Our Right to Dissent
The failed coup of January 6 is being used to justify more than 60 anti-protest bills that are rapidly advancing through state legislatures. Senior staff attorney Meera Shah joined the Civil Liberties Defense Center and Defending Rights & Dissent to discuss these authoritarian efforts to chill dissent and what can be done to resist them. Director Dima Khalidi join edthe Foundation for Middle East Peace for a webinar discussing the implications and impact of the IHRA definition of antisemitism on Palestinians. Dima spoke alongside Dr. Sherene Seikaly and client Ahmad Daraldik, who was unfairly attacked in his role as student senate president at Florida State University under the IHRA definition.
