POSITION SUMMARY: 

PSLS seeks a dynamic and versatile individual to be a full time Office Manager who will help build the organization by carrying out an array of administrative, development and communications functions, under the supervision of the Project Director. She/he/they will provide administrative oversight of some independent contractors, volunteers and other staff, and will report directly to the Project Director.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with the project team to develop and implement administrative strategies to organize and systematize project work.
  • Manage project data and keep databases current, including donor management system, mass communications systems, and other databases.
  • Administer donor fundraising activities, including: donor meetings, phone calls, correspondence, events, prospect research, online fundraising efforts, and other fundraising activities.
  • Manage logistics for project events: manage scheduling, organize mailings, responses, and printed materials, and support project team with event logistics.
  • Help produce (write, format, manage editing, design and printing processes, as needed) written project materials such as brochures, funding proposals, project reports, correspondence with donors, project supporters and partners, etc.
  • Produce communications materials that advance the project’s goals, including appeal letters, emails, newsletters, blog posts, etc.
  • Use social media tools to enhance project communications.
  • Bachelors degree in any field.
  • Higher degree in management desirable.
  • Assist in other areas of project work as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelors degree in any field.
  • Higher degree in management desirable.
  • 2 or more years of experience in office management, development/fundraising, communications and/or related non-profit work preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Familiarity with the legal repression that Palestinian rights activists face in the U.S. and understanding of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in general.
  • Strong commitment to the mission of PSLS, and to building a healthy, sustainable organization.
  • Proficiency working with databases and managing and interpreting data.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, doing mass mailings, updating websites, and using other computer software and online tools.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Outstanding written, technical and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable using social media tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, multi-task, set priorities and meet required deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, quick learner, and creative at problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with Palestinian history, politics, culture and human rights activism a plus.
  • Arabic language skills a plus.

 

SALARY AND BENEFITS:  This is a full time position.  The beginning salary is $40,000-50,000 annually based on experience, plus benefits.
